August 17 වෙනිදා සිට බදු අඩුකල යතුරුපැදි.

The Ministry of Finance has decided to reduce taxes on several vehicles including telecommunication tax and motorbikes.

Accordingly, Minister of Finance Mangala Samaraweera has decided to abolish the 90% levy on motorbikes which are below 150cc from midnight today.

He was speaking at a media briefing in Colombo today.

Accordingly, the price of motorbikes, small cabs, and small lorries will be reduced from 17th August.

The price of a motorcycle with an engine capacity below 50CC is around Rs. 50,000 and a motorcycle with an engine capacity below 50 - 150 cc is around Rs 100,000.
